In order to break this spell she places upon him she'll need help from her future self. The characters are only filmed in front of a green screen. A computer generated background is added later in post production. This allows the director to change the background to whatever they want. The only location used in the movie is Yew Gardens in London, EnglandAll this makes this film seem like a simple fairy tale, with no relation to reality. However, there is an underlying theme that can be painted into it by an open-minded viewer. One of the most notable themes in this story is that true love conquers all obstacles, even death itself. True love is something that everyone wants to find, but not everyone has found yet. This story contains multiple examples of true love throughout the entire movie. Albeit it is not openly shown, but the actions of the characters are enough to make this theme present. The producers of this movie did not want to go for a full-on musical because they thought that the main focus should be on the story. Therefore, there is no real singing throughout the entire film except for songs that are used in background. The songs that were selected were under perfect circumstances that did not need any acting or emotions behind them. This made it into a more natural situation and an easier transition for actors and actresses who do not normally do musicals and aren’t all that comfortable with performing songs in front of a large audience. One of the points of this movie is that love is an emotion that allows us to overcome the most absurd situations. The entire plotline revolves around Giselle finding out she can hear animals talk. It does not have much to do with her ability to hear fairies, but rather what this new discovery did to her life. She really has no reason to want to stay in the tower, but does because she’s afraid of losing the one thing that makes her truly happy. This plot point shows that even when you are on an absurd situation that seems impossible, it is possible for you to find happiness again. The message of “Enchanted” is to never give up hope. Throughout the entire movie Giselle continuously acknowledges the fact that she will not be able to escape her tower, but never gives up. She always tries to make the best of her situation. Even when her prince tells her that he will not be there long enough for them to fall in love, Giselle persists on making sure that she can still spend her last few moments with him.
